Q: Why Doesn’t the Dodge Viper come with an automatic transmission, only manual?
A: Albo is right. The Viper engine makes too much torque for any of the existing automatic transmissions, and in fact none of the truck transmissions can handle the RPM of the viper engine either, despite being able to handle the torque. This is why the Ram SRT10 also has a manual.
The Viper is designed to be a race car for the street, as a result, an automatic is not available. While an automatic transmission is more convenient and is arguably faster than normal manual drivers in a straight line, on a road course the manual gives you more control than an auto, with less power loss. The Viper is not a car for novice drivers, it has only ABS as far as electronic driver’s aids, and when I go on the race track I always see at least one viper spin off the track. It is brutally fast but if you can’t drive stick, you probably don’t have the skill to handle one properly.

A: Well, not owning a Viper, but wish I did,,cannot directly answer, but no one else is trying.

Why would you want to change. If larger wanted there are after market injector shops and sites. One point, Jeep changed style, but needed higher injection pressures to use them and get better atomization.

A: Sorry, I’m in the states, but trying to find cheap parts for a viper is an odd request. Why have a Viper and put cheap parts on it?
Q: Are the Dodge Viper’s days numbered?
Last week, it was reported that GM was in talks with Chrysler to buy them out. This week, Daimler-Chrysler announced a $13,000,000,000.00 auction to get rid of Chrysler. According to news sources, GM has still been the only known company to be in talks with Chrysler about buying them out.
Last month, GM’s vice chairman Bob Lutz said “it is very important for Corvette to be the most powerful, most capable, best handling sports car in the United States” in response to the Viper surpassing the top-level Corvette’s horsepower.
Don’t get me wrong. I like the Corvette. But I have also been a fan of the Dodge Viper since its inception. It’s my favorite sports car and I would hate to see it discontinued. But unfortunately, I have a feeling that if GM gets its hands on the Viper, it will take whatever technology it wants from that car, adapt it to the ‘Vette, and then bury the Viper. Anyone else see this possibly happening?

Sorry, but you have no clue what you’re talking about. The Viper, in case you haven’t heard, is now MORE powerful than the top-level Vette, so no, the Vette doesn’t already destroy the Viper. And as for them not wanting Dodge’s technology, believe me, GM wants their hands on the patents for the HEMI so badly, you don’t have a clue.
A: Well for one the Vette will already destroy the Viper. Two the Viper is no where as good a car as the Vette so I do not see them getting any technology from it. Three I don’t think GM will by Chrysler. They got enough problems of there on why take on more.Four If any car disappears it might be the Challenger all the Mopar fans were getting excited about. Then again if it turns out like the Charger did it still will be a disappointment.

A: certainly not, in fact it is underpowered. At just 8,000cc it is a wimps option, it is well known that American engines belong on kiddy cars. Now if you were to drop a 32 litre Railton engine in, you would be talking power. at 32,000 cc in a mobility scooter you are ready for the road. Just a few minor adjustments to the suspension and a slightly bigger set of wheels you could attain 0 to 60 mph in just under 1.2 seconds. By the time you have reached 5th gear you should be attaining mach 3.9 and on braking you could pull 12.78 g’s
Q: Which Dodge Viper is better?
Hey guys, my dad is going to buy a Dodge Viper from America and ship it back to Australia. He is thinking of getting the Gen 1 Soft top. I don’t like it because it has no “real” windows and doesn’t have as much “appeal” to it.
I’d much rather prefer the SRT, but it cost more…but is it worth the extra money?
So can someone tell me which is better out of the Gen 1, Gen 2 and SRT-10 and why?

A: In my opinion, I think the Gen. 2 GTS is the coolest with the 5-spoke wheels.
The SRT costs plenty more, but does have about 100 more hp than the Gen 2, not to mention the actual convertible top. If he doesn’t want to pay the higher price, go for the 2nd Gen RT/10 since it has more power than the 1st Gen, plus better looking wheels IMO.
Q: Do YOU THiNk the corvette zr1 and dodge viper srt10 will be made till the end of TIME from the Looks of things?
A: They will eventually be made hybrids like a lot of current sports cars and every last ounce of their appeal will wash away.
And as much as American cars are useless around corners, contrary to “fusepark” the ZR1 and SRT10 are two exceptions to the rule. All it takes is a decent driver, hence why they’ve clocked very respectable Nurburgring times.
