Q: Where is the air filter for a dodge charger?
I have a 2010 Charger and I’ve only had it since July, but the air in it already stinks. I take good care of it and vacuum, clean and polish every 2-3 weeks. I don’t understand why it smells, but I’m pretty sure it’s the air filter that is smelly. Every time I turn on the car it stinks for a few minutes then goes away. and it’s the kind of smell you can’t ignore… How do I get rid of the problem?
A: you bought a new car so you should be able to run the a/c anytime you want to ,yo need to take it back to them and have them check the heater box, the drain pipe may jot be installed right on it allowing the water to set in the heater box and mildew.the filter is on the outside part under the hood top part of the heater box,and its replaceable,good luck with it.
Q: Ford Mustang GT Convertible or Dodge Charger?
I am purchasing a new car this week. I am having a hard time deciding between the Dodge Charger or the Ford Mustang GT Convertible.
They have 0% financing with Dodge for the first 3 years but I will have it paid off before that.
Ford doesnt have the same financing but I can pay cash for the Mustang so I wont incur finance charges.
Other than the financing, what is your favorite between the two. My insurance is almost exactly the same between them so that isnt helping with the decision.
A: I like the Charger better but…if you can more easily afford the Mustang, why not go with that?

A: 1st you shove a large screwdriver into the ignition switch and pry it until the steering wheel lock breaks (~$500 to repair), this will let you make turns while driving.

my friends got a charger (base engine 2.7 L) and i have read that this engine struggles under the cars hefty weight but he claims he could beat me.
A: I believe that your Altima will be able to outrun your friends Charger. The Altima has a weight to power ratio of 18.4 lbs/hp and the Charger has a weight to power ratio of 20.9 lbs/hp. However the Altima has a higher axle ratio of 3.65 vs 3.9 (charger), which means it could have a slightly lower acceleration. Both the Charger have peak torque at around the same place, 4400 RPM for the Altima and 4000 RPM for the Charger. Your Altima will apparently top out at 120 MPH or 193 Km/h. Im not sure of the top speed of the Charger but I believe it is near there. It probably will take the Charger longer to get up to top speed because its peak HP is a 5500 RPM and it redlines at 6600 RPM. In conclusion I think that your car would definitely be able to beat out the Charger.

But to call a Charger a “town car?” Your friend is on crack. I think, in today’s era, to see a late-model Charger V8 going against a Mustang GT is not unusual.

Have a mechanic who is a friend of a friend and has claimed was one of the mechanics that helped build the Charger. I am considering having him do some work on my car but I want to find out if he is legit.
A: First off, it was a movie car. It was built by people who build cars…to be driven wrecklessly a few times on a movie set. That car had about 1/3 the power they claimed in the movie, so if he’s claiming it had the claimed 900hp and he helped build it, he’s lying. Also, “helped build the charger” could mean he ran and got water for the people who actually worked on it. You might want to get more specifics from him as to WHAT he did on the car. Post it back or just email me and I’ll tell you if he’s FOS or not. You could ask him what kind of blower was on it too, that will help, because there was no blower on that car. What you saw sticking “out” of the hood of the car was, in fact, bolted TO the hood on the driving car. The one where you see the hood off very well could have been 900hp, but they obviously weren’t going to use it for stunts.

I’m currently restoring a 1971 Dodge Charger. I had the car cranking the other day but it wouldn’t turn over. Now the car won’t even crank. I replaced the battery, battery cables and the starter but when i turn the key nothing happens. however, there is a popping noise that comes from the distributor ( to me it sounds like it’s trying to fire) and the lights dim. so I don’t think it’s the ignition switch. A: yes it does ,check the asd relay on it to see if it went bad,also check to make sure its in park all the way,from what you just described on it could also be the main ignition fuse has blown on it, it kills the power to everything on the car,it causes a no start and no run situation on them,good luck with it.
