So I am looking into getting a 2010 Ford Mustang convertible. However the hinges for the convertible are a concern because of my daughter fingers. I was wondering if they make covers for the open hinges?

Q: I need someone who REALLY knows the Ford Mustang Engine?
I have a 2001 Ford Mustang. It is a V6 3.8L automatic. The only problem is… I CANT GET IT TO PASS EMISSIONS!!!! When the slip printed out, the OBD code was P1131, i think, and when i asked a mechanic, he said it was an airflow/O2 sensor. I dont know how to fix it or how much it will cost but its making me very upset that it wont pass. Plus, my check fuel cap light is on. I just bought a brand new one and the light didnt go out. Someone help, PLEASE?

Any ideas where to find it? I’d perfer not to get it online because it’s cheap and the shipping cost makes it not so cheap.

On some cars it’s really difficult because you need a special machine to lift up the thing covering the light, does anyone know if it’s that hard with a car such as the ford mustang, it’s a 1995
A: Real easy you dont replace the head light you replace the bulb. Just lift the hood and you will see the wires go into the headlight housing. At the end of the wire there will be a little plastic bracket that you can put your thumb and forefinger on just twist it out righty tighty lefty loosey!

Q: Help with 1998 Ford Mustang Headlight troubleshooting / problem?
I have a 1998 ford mustang and the headlights have recently gone out. I saw them flickering when I went around a corner last week and then they worked fine after the turn, but now however they don’t. Here are some more details…
-When i pull the headlight switch, both front parking lights (ambers) come on as well as the rear taillights.
-The Brights seem to work when I pull backwards on the turn signals (is that called flash to pass?) But do not work when I click it forward (so you don’t have to hold it down)
-I have checked some fuses but not sure if I checked the right ones.
-I have inspected the connections to the light housing to some degree and see no obvious problems.
-The turn I mentioned earlier did use the turn signal if that affects at all.
A: When you open the hood you will see a small green bolt just above each headlight. This is a ground point. Check to be sure these are tight. If they are, you most likely need a new multifunction switch (headlight, turn signal, high beam all-in-one). Cost at the dealer is around $150.00. Usually have it in stock. They go bad quite often. Very easy to install. Pull 3 screws from plastic steering column cover, tilt wheel completely down and unscrew tilt handle. Remove lower cover and raise upper cover. You will see 2 torques head screws holding the switch on. remove them and unplug 2 wire connectors. Replace in reverse sequence. Also check the wire connectors to make sure the retainer clips are not broken.

A: All you will get for under 20 is a New V-6 Mustang, or a Good used GT. They aren’t that bad on Gas. The Base GT’s with no performance upgrades are designed to run on Regular Gas. I own a 2004 Mach 1.

Q: Should I take 97′ Ford Explorer or the 01 Mustang Convertible?
I am moving to the mountains of North Carolina for school and have the option of taking my current 2001 Ford Mustang convertible or taking my older 97′ Ford Explorer.
I am not sure which to choose. Both get near the same gas mileage and really aren’t the ideal cars for snow. The explorer has more space but the mustang is easier to drive and park. What do you think?

Q: I have a 1981 Ford Mustang. What is wrong with my gas guage ?
I have a 1981 Ford Mustang. When i fill it up, the dial goes pass the Full dial and then rest at the end of the guage. After about 40 miles it then reaches the F in the guage. Then at about 100 miles it reaches the 1/2 mark. Then at the end when it is at E it reads as 144 miles on the E with the fuel light. Is the guage reading wrong or not calibrated in which i have more fuel than i think i have. The distribution of the 144 miles is not even.
A: Most older vehicles have fuel sending units that are not the most accurate units. Your gauge is acting normal. There is no easy way to calibrate these sending units as often the float is unable to reach the maximum level of the tank. But normally all most people need to know is roughly how long till you run out of fuel.
